Origins of Sri Lankan (Ceylon) Cinnamon

Cinnamon is the name for several species of tree, and the commercial spice products that some of these trees produce. All are members of the genus Cinnamomum in the family of Lauraceae. Only a few Cinnamomum species are grown commercially for spice.

Grades of Cinnamon

Alba

This thin shaped Ceylon Cinnamon is the most expensive one among the entirely true cinnamon range.it has an exquisite taste (sweeter than other grades) and aroma.

SLP

This grade of cinnamon is the 2nd best quality after Alba. These comprise a wonderful taste. Shape and feels smooth too.

C5

This highly demanded grade of cinnamon is slender with golden yellow color and has a sweet taste and this is specially made for the European Market.

M5

This grade is brown in color and tough in appearance plus consists of thin strick of cinnamon.

M4

This kind of cinnamon consists of selected sections of the cinnamon.

H1

This grade possesses the best and most pricey portions of the rough cinnamon bark.

H2

This grade comprises roughly 90% of golden yellow Cinnamon sticks of fine quality.
